He has been through the musical learning journey on both piano and saxophone and understands the joys and challenges of learning to play from a young age. He has a music degree and is a working musician. And he’s been teaching piano and saxophone privately and at schools since 2013.

Beginner Lessons
If you are starting out Jared will help you learn to play quickly and have fun. He will help you set small musical goals and teach you the right playing technique from the start. AMEB Exams, VCE Music Performance or Piano for Leisure
Whether it’s piano lessons or saxophone lessons, Jared teaches a variety of music curriculum. This includes formal training for examinations or music for leisure pathways. He studied VCE Music Performance and Music Investigation and can show students what is required to excel. He also teaches how to prepare and audition for a Bachelor of Music degree in jazz performance.
Music Improvisation
As a jazz musician, Jared has spent much of his musical journey improvising. It’s his passion and favourite style to teach. Jared’s holistic approach to improvisation can take you from learning basic blues forms, scales and solos, to giving you insights into the practice and techniques used by some of Australia’s greatest improvisers that he has studied with. He is well versed in jazz theory, harmony and rhythm and the standard repertoire and can even provide a rhythm section for you to practice playing with!.

Some pieces of music are fantastic for developing technique, tone ands skills. Others are inspiring classics or popular songs that people love to hear.
