About Jared Becker Music

Jared began teaching music when he was sixteen years old and is passionate about sharing and nurturing a love of music in others.

His musical education started with piano lessons when he was six, and continued into primary school when he began learning saxophone. He has a Bachelor of Music from Monash University specialising in Jazz Performance. Jared is interested and proficient in a wide variety of styles of music, and enjoys incorporating these into lessons.

Jared is currently enjoying studying for a Masters of Teaching (Secondary) at Deakin University. The knowledge and skills he learns here will enable him to become an even better teacher for his students and help them achieve their musical aspirations (and have fun along the way).

Jared Becker Music is based in a private music studio in Montmorency. Jared also teaches within the instrumental music programs of a number of schools.

I teach students of all ages and abilities on both saxophone and piano, from absolute beginners to those preparing for AMEB and university entrance exams.

I aim to provide my students a unique learning experience combining both theoretical and aural musical concepts and practice techniques. I want to help them evolve into the kind of players that they would love to be.

Jared performs in a number of bands playing saxophone and keyboard. He also works as a DJ and collaborates with other musicians to write and record music. He has played with Kate Ceberano and Paul Grabowsky, as well as international artists such as Terri-Lynn Carrington, Linda Oh and Tony Malaby.
